We are all responsible for taking care of the environment and providing care to limit our environmental footprints. You Brands takes our corporate responsibility seriously and runs our business in line with national and international law in a sustainable way. Sustainable development means we must take care of the needs of today's population at the same time as we do not undermines future generations needs. We must use the resources we have in a wise way. Our most important contribution in this way is to take care of the environment and the people.
THE HUMAN RESOURSES
You Brands rents the production from approximately 25 factories in Asia. There are many people involved in the process of our productions and it is our responsibility to ensure safe working conditions for all involved. We have our own "Code of Conduct" build on the UN Global’s human rights. This is a main tool in our communication which requires the ethical guidelines and working conditions on each location. Our Code of Conduct applies to all stakeholders, internally and externally. The Code of Conduct is available below.
It’s important for us to offer and provide safe products, free of harmful chemicals and environmental hazards. It is crucial that our products are safe for the environment, the employees and the consumers. You Brands has dedicated employees who work with daily product safety and ensuring that our products comply with current regulations and legislation. We have prepared lists of "Limited Chemicals" (RSL: Restricted Substance List) that our suppliers must commit to follow. We conduct continuous tests through independent test agencies to ensure that our rules are complied with. Through our knowledge of product safety we ensure a good working environment with our suppliers, the environment is handled in the best possible way and our consumers receive safe products.
We have been a member of the UN Global Compact (UN), the world's largest enterprise initiative social responsibility, for almost 10 years. Through our membership of the UN Global Compact we are doing our best to run our business in line with the 10 basic principles of human rights, working environment and anti-corruption. We undertake to submit an annual COP (Communication on Progress), which is an official document describing our goals.
BSCI is an international organization that will ensure working environment and rights in a global supply chain, and can be considered as a common working standard. With our BSCI membership we wish to promote You Brands social responsibility through intensive cooperation with all of us suppliers. BSCI provides a common "Code of Conduct", and a development-oriented system to achieve the best working conditions throughout the supply chain. Our Code of Conduct describes which requirements and expectations we provide to our manufacturers and partners, internally and externally. Together we work towards a common goal of developing working conditions, protecting human rights and help reduce environmental pollution.
